Medical mission in Daanbantayan

More than 350 patients benefitted from a medical mission conducted by the Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. in Barangays Dalingding Norte and Tinubdan in Daanbantayan on April 2, 3, 2016

The services included medical consultations, tooth extraction, urinalysis, blood screening for diabetes mellitus and dispensing of medicines.

Dalingding Norte is a project area of the VPHCS in its project, “ Building community-based health programs in Northern Cebu,” which is supported by the LandsAid, a humanitarian aid organization in Germany. The medical mission is one of the project activities to render much needed health services to the residents in the barangay.

Tinubdan is a project area of the Community Empowerment Resource Network (CERNET) in its project, “Bangon Visayas Rehabilitation Project” which delivers capability building on disaster risk reduction and management for community leaders, seminar on climate change and environment, livelihood support and psychosocial support services for the people.

Volunteers included Dr. Larsen Omolon, Gullas College of Medicine medical interns Belmar Quilla, Samuel Quisil, Rachelle Moralde, Sandley Sabang and Precious Pepito, post graduate intern Giancarlo Bascon, dentists Mark Joseph Palacio, Emmanuel Mercado, and Carolina Bucao, nurse Pearl Templado, and Hanna Liza Lora.

VPHCS staff Dr. Erlinda Posadas, Irish Grace Ramirez, Juliet Abing, Lourdes Geolin, Cres Labitad, Angelie Marangga and Lucila Carreon joined the team.
