Sustained support from FACCHD
The VPHCS has been continually blessed with the support of the Fil-Am Center for Community Health and Development (FACCHD)/Tambalan International based in Pleasanton, California, U.S.A.

The Balay Kahimsog (House of Health) which stands in the hills of Barangay Cambanac, Baclayon is now fully functional as a resource center for primary health care in Cebu and Bohol.  The construction of the training center was made possible with funds from the FACCHD and donors in the United States, Japan, Italy and Canada, the Uncle Mike Foundation in Larkspur, California, and fund-raising activities it organized particularly the annual Alay sa Kapwa.

The center was blessed on September 11, 2009 with Rev. Fr. Desiderio Magdoza and Msgr. Feliciano Nalzaro officiated the blessing. Guests included VPHCS Board of Trustees vice-chairman Dr. Jaime Galvez Tan and member Mrs. Ma. Elena V. Luna, Bohol Provincial Committee on Health Chairman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez and two officials of Barangay Cambanac.

The two-storey center is a perfect venue for seminars, retreats and other gatherings which can be booked at affordable rates. It has a spacious conference hall that occupies the entire second floor. No walls but grills line its sides so that it offers a magnificent view of the Visayan Sea and the rolling hills of Bohol. The ground floor has an office, kitchen, dining hall, and sleeping quarters.
The center is also envisioned to be a resource center for primary health care, complementary and alternative medicine.

FACCHD has also supported the medical mission endeavors of the VPHCS.  Through its Board of Trustees, the FACCHD has worked with the VPHCS in conducting a unique type of medical mission, that is, the physical examination of elementary students, a series of which have been conducted in 2009 and early part of 2010.   The medical missions include the physical examination of  public elementary students,  taking of their  weights and heights, visual acuity, and urinalysis.  Dental services are also rendered.

The FACCHD also donated medical equipment,  supplies and medicines to further the VPHCS capacity to expand its services and reach out to more communities.  They included two otoscopes and two autoclaves to ensure sterility during VPHCS circumcision and minor surgery missions.

The FACCHD also donated funds in 2009 and 2010 to shoulder  the administrative expenses particularly the honorarium of its staff so that they can continue to render their services for the organization.
