Technical Assistance on COVID-19 Response to Four LGUs
August 10, 2020 - January 31, 2021
The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. (VPHCS) implemented a project on COVID-19 response with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ReachHealth Project from August 10, 2020 to January 31, 2021. The ReachHealth Project is on ongoing project since 2018 and is administered by the RTI International.

Health project in Medellin and Daanbantayan, Cebu

The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. implemented a health project in eight barangays in the Municipality of Medellin and Municipality in Daanbantayan in the northern part of Cebu Province last December 2017 to December 2019.

The Fil-Am Center for Community Health and Development (FACCHD) is a group of Filipino Americans who are residents in Pleasanton, California, U.S.A. The group supported the Visayas Primary Healthcare Services for the past several years in its community-based health programs (CBHPs) endeavors in Cebu and Bohol.

The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. implemented a project, “Sustaining community-based health programs to promote health and prevent disease in urban poor communities in Cebu” in Sitio Sawsawan, San Roque, Talisay City, Purok Tambis, Umapad, Mandaue City, and Sitio Intramuros, Barangay Poblacion, Cordova from May 2016 – April 2018.
Project on women human rights defenders.
August 2017 – October 2017
The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. (VPHCS) had a three-month project on empowering women human rights defenders. Supported by the Urgent Action Fund based in California, United States, the project was implemented on August 1, 2017 to October 31, 2017.
Defending human rights, promoting justice, preserving life
December 2016 – May 2017
The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. implemented a project, “Defending human rights, promoting justice, and preserving life in North Cebu, Philippines.”
The six month project was funded by the Unitarian Universalist Committee (UUSC). The project was implemented in the following areas, namely: Barangays Patao, Lipayran, and Kampinganon in the Municipality of Bantayan, and Barangay San Agustin in the Municipality of Madridejos.
Building community-based health programs in North Cebu
May 2015 – December 2016
The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, (VPHCS) Inc. implemented a project to develop community-based programs (CBHPs) in three barangays in North Cebu that were affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
With the support of the LandsAid, a German humanitarian aid organization, the project provided health skills trainings and services to community health workers and residents in Barangays Dalingding Norte and Paypay in Daanbantayan and Tindog in Medellin.
Project on primary health care and disaster preparedness in Bantayan Island

The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, (VPHCS) Inc. implemented a project, “Building resilient communities: integrating primary health care in disaster risk reduction and management” in Barangays Patao, Kampinganon, and Lipayran of the Municipality of Bantayan and Barangay San Agustin of the Municipality of Madridejos.
Advancing mental health among families affected by Typhoon Yolanda in Cebu
September 2014 to March 2015
The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. (VPHCS) implemented a project that benefitted families affected by Typhoon Yolanda in the northern part of Cebu.
The project, “Integrating Community Resiliency Model (CRM) in Community-based Health Program (CBHP) in ten villages in northern Cebu affected by Typhoon Yolanda was implemented on September 2014 to March 2015.
Psychosocial support services for survivors of Typhoon Yolanda in Northern Cebu

The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, (VPHCS) Inc. conducted a series of psychosocial support services missions from February 8 to April 27, 2014 in 20 barangays in nine municipalities and one city in Cebu which were affected by Typhoon Yolanda.

Promoting environmental sanitation in Tangke, Talisay City
November 2012 – November 2013
The Visayas Primary Health Care Services, Inc. successfully implemented an environmental health project with the support of the Foundation for Philippine Environment on Nov. 2012 to Nov. 2013.
Barangays Tangke, one of the 22 barangays in Talisay City, Cebu, is one of the ten coastal barangays in Cebu. Spanning 90.06 hectares with a population of 11,791 or 1,636 households (NSO 2007), it has seven sitios, namely: Salvador, Kilawan, San Rafael, San Pedro, Magay, Galaxy, and Rattan.
Advancing primary health care in urban poor barangays in Cebu
June 2011 – May 2013
The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. availed of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of the Bayan Muna Party-List which was channeled to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to implement health projects that benefitted 23 poor communities in barangays in Cebu City, Mandaue City, Lapu-lapu City, Talisay City, Minglanilla, Aloguinsan, and Cordova from January 2008 to May 2013.
