The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. equips community health workers (CHW) and leaders of people’s organizations with knowledge and skills to respond to the basic health needs of their communities through health promotion, disease prevention and selective curative process.
The VPHCS reaches out to marginalized communities in Cebu and Bohol to render free medical check-ups, dental services, dispensing of medicines, circumcision, physical examination of public elementary students and optometric services.
The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. establishes ties and relationships with various organizations, funding agencies, foundations, institutions and individuals in the international and national spheres in promoting primary health care and building community-based health programs in the Visayas.
The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. taps and mobilizes volunteers of doctors, nurses, dentists, medical and nursing students and other health workers to render services in community-based health programs. They serve as resource persons for community activities such as basic health skills trainings (BHST) for community health workers (CHWs), health education and information for residents, and health programs.
