Ceremonial Turnover of Handwashing Facilities in Bogo City

The ceremony of the turnover of the handwashing facilities donated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ReachHealth Project to the City of Bogo was held on November 12, 2020 at the Bogo City Health Office grounds.

The affair was graced by Bogo City Administrator Antonieto M. Suico and City Health Officer Dr. Rene Galo Palay as well as nurses of the CHO, staff of the Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. and Keannu M. Arnoco of the RTI International.

The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. organized the turnover ceremony as part of the project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on COVID-19 response.

The opening prayer was led by VPHCS staff Lora M. Manigos which was followed by the opening remarks of Dr. Palay. He was followed by an overview of the ReachHealth project given by Mr. Arnoco. Following his speech was the speech of Dr. Erlinda Posadas, program physician of the VPHCS, who presented the five handwashing facilities in Bogo City in the following sites, namely: two in the public market, one in the Polambato Port, one in the bus terminal and the one in the CHO. She also said that the USAID was donating BIDA hygiene kits for the use of patients of COVID-19.

Her speech was followed by the ceremonial ribbon cutting of the handwashing facility by Mr. Suico and Dr. Palay. They then proceeded to sign the Certificate of Turnover and Acceptance. Mr. Suico then gave his acceptance speech, thanking the USAID for the donations and expressing his welcome to the RTI International and VPHCS staff to continue their support for his city’s projects.

The ceremonial first handwashing was then done by Mr. Suico and Dr. Palay.

This was then followed by the turnover of BIDA kits donated by USAID ReachHealth Project to the City of Bogo, which were accepted by Mr. Suico and Dr. Palay.

Dr. Posadas then gave her closing remarks. A picture pose by all the participants was then taken.

The activity started at 9:30 a.m and ended at 10:30 a.m.
