The Sitio Lawis Pasil Women’s Association has established a heartwarming tradition that brings both nourishment and support to its members. Every two weeks, mothers contribute small amounts of rice and money to purchase a chicken, which is transformed into tender tidbits that enrich a comforting rice porridge. This simple yet meaningful meal not only feeds the children but also fosters a sense of unity among the mothers, who gather to prepare and share the food.
As they cook together, the mothers create a safe space to discuss their challenges and triumphs. These gatherings become an invaluable opportunity for them to lean on one another, sharing advice and resources, and brainstorming ways to uplift their families.
