Information dissemination on adolescent gender-based violence

The VPHCS project staff of the ReachHealth Project designed, reproduced and distributed information education and communication (IEC) materials on adolescent gender-based violence.

Using a reference material, Adolescent Job Aid Manual of the World Health Organization, the VPHCS project team designed a flyer 6 inches by 11 inches and a tarpaulin 2 ft. by 3 ft.  with a diagram, “Approach to Adolescent Victims of Physical and Sexual Abuse.”   A total of 120 flyers and 180 tarpaulins were then printed.

A 12-page 4.25 x 5.5 inches pamphlet with the 10 steps in “Approach to Adolescent Victims of Physical and Sexual Abuse” was also designed by the project team and 630 copies of it were printed.

These three IEC materials were then apportioned  to the four local government units (LGUs) of the ReachHealth project on COVID-19 response and distributed to their municipal health officers and city health officer of Bogo City last January 28 and 29, 2021.

They are expected to be used by the MHOs, nurses, midwives and barangay health workers in dealing with adolescent victims of physical and sexual abuse.
