A meeting was conducted with the Municipal Health Officer of Medellin on November 20, 2020 in the rural health unit in order to discuss about the development of a health declaration tool and data base for sea passengers in Kawit Port.

The meeting was attended by MHO Dr. Oliver Gimenez while the VPHCS team included Dr. Erlinda Posadas and Crescenciana Labitad.

Dr. Posadas presented the agenda, introducing briefly about the project and that one of its activities is to develop a health declaration tool and database for sea passengers. She inquired about the present protocols and situation existing in the port.

Dr. Gimenez said that at present the port is under renovation and that there are no commercial passengers. The only boats that sail are those that ferry residents of Barangay Gibitngil Island, and these are small motorized boats.

He said that there are no special health protocols aside from observing social distancing in the boat and wearing of face masks. The travel is inter-barangay only, from Kawit to Gibitngil.
