The Visayas Primary Health Care Services conducted an operation tuli (circumcision) for members of the San Pio Homeowners Association in San Pio Village in Dumlog, Talisay City last April 11, 2015.
A total of 72 boys was circumcised. The activity was held in coordination with the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation – Integrated Development Center, Inc., the social action arm of the Society of Divine Word congregation. The families of the boys are among the 300 families who are beneficiaries of the Dumlog Housing Project of the JPIC in partnership with the Karl Kubel Stiftung fur Kind und Familie (KKS Germany) , the German Government, and the San Pio Foundation (Bethlehem Communities Australia).
Prior to living in the socialized housing units in the San Pio Village, the families were marginalized squatter and garbage scavenger families in Metro Cebu, many of whom were living in the vicinity of dumpsites which they depended on for their livelihood.
Staff members of the VPHCS and volunteer doctors rendered their services for the tuli.
