Series of health education classed held in Medellin

Trained community health workers under the project “Integrated Community-based Livelihood Project for Typhoon Yolanda Survivors in Medellin and Daanbantayan, Cebu” are currently conducting a series of health education activities in their communities.

The project is a wholistic project on social development implemented by the Cebu-Bohol Relief and Rehabilitation Center (CRRC) which provides livelihood projects and social services to the residents in the barangays. The VPHCS partners with the CRRC in the health component of the project.

The health education activities covered the following topics, namely: (1) home remedies for common illnesses in Barangay Kawit on August 5 and in Barangay Daanglungsod on August 6, (2) environmental sanitation in Barangay Maharuhay on August 13, (3) lagundi syrup and ginger ale processing in Barangay Gibitngil on August 20, (4) control of hypertension in Barangay Maharuhay on September 2, (5) control of acute respiratory tract infection in Barangay Gibitngil on September 8, (6) control of hypertension in Barangay Daanglungsod on September 9, and (7) Control of acute respiratory tract infection in Barangay Kawit on September 16.
