The Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, Inc. conducted a strategic planning with its staff on September 7, 8 10, 2018.
As an organizational management activity, the strategic planning aimed to set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, ensure that the staff, members of the board of trustees and other stakeholders are working toward common goals, establish agreement around intended outcomes/results, and assess and adjust the organization’s direction in response to a changing environment.
The strategic planning was also held per resolution of the VPHCS Board of Trustees meeting in 2017.
The planning was facilitated by Dr. Mark Molina. The planning started with a review of the VPHCS programs and services from 2009 when the last strategic planning was held to the present. Salient accomplishments and trends were threshed out. Then, a discussion of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) was held. Based on this, a review of the Philosophy, Vision, Mission, Values, Goals, Strategies, Key Result Areas and Programs was held. Appropriate revisions were then made on the 2009 paper to make it more responsive to the SWOT.
A program plan with the programs, objectives, verifiable indicators and general activities was then made. Lastly, the strategic planning concluded with a five-year plan, from 2019 – 2023.
