The Visayas Primary Health Care Services, Inc. staff in Bohol was honored with the recent visit of members of Task Force Carabao of Germany which has supported its many medical services in the past.

Kathi Range and Dr. Jochen Range visited the public elementary school in Barangay Nueva Vida in Loon, Bohol last March 11, 2015.  Task Force Carabao had provided funds for the construction of a classroom in the elementary school which was destroyed during the earthquake that shook Bohol on October 15, 2013.   The two visitors talked with  Grade 1 and 2 elementary students who hold classes in the classroom.

A medical mission was held in Barangay Nueva Vida by the VPHCS in March 2013 which was supported by the task force.

The classroom also served as the evacuation center during the three typhoons that struck Bohol in November and December 2014.

Dr. Jochen and Kathi then proceeded to Barangay Bagtic in Catigbian where they assessed the damage of the barangay elementary school caused by the earthquake.   They met with the  Bagtic barangay council and teachers of the school.

Kathi and Dr. Jochen then went to Barangay Tabuan in Antequera on March 12 for a meeting with the Kababayen-an kontra Kakabus sa Antequera (Women against Poverty in Antequera) and the Antequeranhon Kahugpungan sa Mag-uuma where the latter presented the need for health services for their residents.   A medical mission was subsequently held on March 14 in the barangay.  Plans for future dental and optometry services were also made during the meeting.
