To be able to serve its communities much better, the Visayas Primary Healthcare Services, (VPHCS) Inc. has a new office.
The office is a spacious two-storey house situated in in 2681 V. Rama Ave, Guadalupe. It has an office, library, conference room, and clinic dubbed as the Remedios~Aurora Clinic.
The house is owned by the family of the late Aurora Fernandez, R.N. , a member of the Board of Trustees of the VPHCS who was a close friend of the VPHCS. When she retired as a public health nurse in Berkeley, California, U.S.A., and came back to the Philippines, Aurora volunteered in the VPHCS community-based health programs in Cebu and Bohol and programs and advocated for the protection of the environment.
Before her untimely death in September 2012 in her Oakland home in California, Aurora expressed her desire to have her house in Guadalupe be used by the VPHCS for its services for the poor.
The clinic is also named after Aurora’s mother, Remedios.
